Pol\u00fcvin\u00fc\u00fclalkohol (PVA\/PVOH) on osutunud t\u00f5husaks keskkonnareostust v\u00e4hendavaks vahendiks. Stanfordi \u00fclikooli teadlased avastasid, et PVA v\u00f5ib toimida reostuse filtrina, kui seda lisatakse reoveele. Pol\u00fcmeer moodustab geelilaadse struktuuri, mis p\u00fc\u00fcab ja absorbeerib saasteaineid, muutes nende eemaldamise ja k\u00f5rvaldamise lihtsamaks.
