Il poss\u00e8de une bonne adh\u00e9rence, des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s filmog\u00e8nes, une r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l'huile et une protection collo\u00efdale. Il ne pollue pas et est d\u00e9gradable, ce qui est rarement le cas des mat\u00e9riaux polym\u00e8res. Par rapport \u00e0 d'autres produits chimiques, le PVA et ses produits d\u00e9riv\u00e9s ont un tr\u00e8s large espace de d\u00e9veloppement, et de nouvelles utilisations et de nouvelles vari\u00e9t\u00e9s sont toujours en cours de d\u00e9veloppement.
