Van polyvinylalcohol (PVA\/PVOH) is ontdekt dat het een effectief middel is dat milieuvervuiling vermindert. Onderzoekers van de Universiteit van Stanford ontdekten dat PVA als vervuilingsfilter kan fungeren wanneer het aan afvalwater wordt toegevoegd. Het polymeer vormt een gelachtige structuur die verontreinigingen opvangt en absorbeert, waardoor het gemakkelijker wordt om de verontreinigingen te verwijderen en af te voeren. De ontdekking van de mogelijkheden van PVA om milieuvervuiling aan te pakken is een belangrijke stap in de richting van een schoner en duurzamer milieu.<\/p>\n
