Het heeft een goede hechting, filmvormende eigenschappen, oliebestendigheid en collo\u00efdale bescherming. Het heeft geen vervuiling en is afbreekbaar, wat zelden voorkomt bij polymeermaterialen. Vergeleken met andere chemische producten, hebben PVA en zijn afgeleide producten een zeer brede ontwikkelingsruimte, en nieuwe toepassingen en nieuwe vari\u00ebteiten zijn nog steeds in voortdurende ontwikkeling. In de traditionele toepassingsgebieden van PVA-producten worden ze, naast het gebruik als grondstof voor synthetische vinylonvezels, voornamelijk gebruikt in kleefstoffen, textielpulp, papierproductie, enz.
